7 Zen was founded by Taylor Gaines in the early months of 2020. At that time, she was working full-time as well as balancing life as a single mother with numerous responsibilities in the midst of a world pandemic. However, there were two things that kept Taylor sane; the love for her daughter and candles.
One day she was at home spending time with her daughter, while one of her homemade candles filled the room with a therapeutic aroma, and everything in the outside world no longer mattered. It was in that moment, she realized she was at true peace. Later that evening 7 Zen was created.
The significance of the number “7” was because dating back to biblical days it represented the number of completion. Additionally, it represents the date of her daughter’s birth. “Zen” means to be in a complete state of peace and calmness.
